Lauren's Favorites: Completed Cat Crochet Projects

My Favorite Cat-Themed Crochet Projects

If you're a cat person who crochets, it's only a matter of time before the two worlds collide. Here are some of my favorite cat-inspired projects I've made, ranging from functional to adorable.

Cat Purse

This one was made for my niece, and little kids plus a cat-shaped purse is a combination that cannot miss. It's the kind of project that's just as fun to make as it is to give — all the details that make it unmistakably a cat, small enough to be the perfect size for a toddler to carry around with their worldly possessions. I filled it with crochet hair bows! Definitely in my top gift makes.

Cat Butt Coasters

Yes, cat butt coasters. If you know, you know. They're practical, they're funny, and they are always a conversation starter when you have guests over. These are the kind of project you make once and people ask about forever. A great quick make if you need a gift for a fellow cat person in your life.

Cat Toys: Kickers, Fish, & Mouse

I made a set of cat toys — kickers, fish, and a mouse — stuffed with plastic grocery bags (nice and crinkly) and catnip. I donated the fish and kickers to my TNR group to use as fundraiser items — they work up quickly!

Most of these patterns were found via Pinterest, but I've linked my free pattern to the kitty kicker above!

Crochet Porch Goose Easter Dress and Bunny Ears

Gustafer's Easter Dress & Bunny Ears A Free Crochet Pattern for Porch Goose Statues     Link to PDF Download I had to jump on the viral porch goose trend — and honestly, the moment I got my goose (meet Gustafer!), I knew I couldn't just leave him standing there undressed. With spring around the corner and Easter on my mind, I set out to make him the most festive goose on the block. The result? A pastel hdc dress with a ruffled hem and a matching set of bunny ears. He is absolutely precious!   This pattern is sized for a standard porch goose statue approximately 23" tall with a 7" neck circumference and 24" belly circumference. The dress is worked in joined rounds from the neck down, so it slips easily over your goose's head and drapes over his body. Update 3/28/26: Thank you all for your support! I've updated the bunny ears for an accounting mistake, as the stitch counts were off. After reviewing the pattern, I found that Rows 2–5 did not hav...

Hooks, Diamonds, & a Whole Lot of Crafting: How I Got Here

The Origin Story My appreciation for art started in 4th grade when I joined art club at school and never really looked back. By high school I was rearranging my entire schedule to make it work — taking summer school so I could fit in two full years of art AND two years of Spanish without sacrificing either. My grandma had already gotten me hooked on crochet by then, so between art club, Saturday lessons, and a packed high school schedule, making things has always just been part of how I operate.                                             Those art classes built a foundation that still shows up in everything I make — color, composition, and detail that carries over whether I'm picking yarn for a new pattern or placing the last diamond on a canvas at midnight. What I Make Crochet is the constant. It's where this blog started and where most of my patterns will live. Beginner-f...
